Why did you feel you had to tell this story?
I am a Wedding DJ and have done over 2,000 shows. I saw people stressing about the same things over and over. So, I decided to write a book that would help Brides, Grooms and their parents have fun and save. People fear the unknown, so I give them my experience to help them have the Ultimate Wedding Reception Experience.
Where did you get your ideas?
Every night from my shows. They varied so much from the small, intimate gatherings to the spare no expense grand galas. Each were different and so I wrote as I experienced them myself. Janie Franz, my co-author said I “write like a man” and took my ideas and turned them into something special.
Did you ever experience writers block?
You mean like I’m having now? Of course, but sometimes you just write your way out of it, like a scorer in basketball keeps shooting to get out of a slump. Or, there are times to take a break and recharge. Both work for me, but ultimately, I keep going.
What advice on writing and publishing?
Just do it, find professionals that will help and finish the project.
How do you market your work?
Online, with Amazon and kindle. They have been really good to me, I have a website and do speeches.
If the book is made into a movie?
Actually I have a movie called Beer & Seed (www.beerandseedthemovie.com) out and have another in pre-production. I doubt this book will be made into a movie, but if it was, Phillip Seymour Hoffman would be the lead.
