Why did you feel you had to tell this story?
I talk to people every day that have their lives spoilt because of issues associated with fears, phobias and anxiety. I help people overcome this negativity and fear by using a simple to learn but powerful technique called Emotional Freedom Technique or as I call it “Tapping” Fear wrecks people’s lives and limits the way they live, after seeing how wonderful this technique was and how affective it was in dealing with these types of feelings, I decided to put the technique into book form so as to help even more people. The technique is easy to do, quick to learn, but above all has the gentle power to remove long held fears in minutes or hours rather than days and weeks.

Where do you get your ideas?
I was seeing a lot of people and helping them get rid of their fears, phobias and anxiety via face to face sessions and group meetings. I happen to be talking to someone on the phone that lived too far away to come and see me. They said how good it would be if I could put the technique I taught into book form. So I then decided that’s what I would do. Because the technique is simple it was quite easy to put into book form. I then tried the book out on people that didn’t know what tapping was, and in every case that I gave the book to the person either rid themselves of their fears or at least lessened them but 50%

Do you ever experience writer’s block and how do you overcome it?
I find that if I get a block of any type it is because I have other jobs to do. The best way round this feeling is to use the technique found in my book to bring me back to a feeling of empowerment and peace, then I can carry on writing.

What advice would you give to aspiring writers on the writing and publishing process?
Know what you’re talking about and if it’s a self-help book make it simple. I wrote the book then gave it to some people to test, I then asked them what they thought and based on their thoughts changed or added those recommendations to my final offering. Also if you think you can’t write a book then you won’t, believe in yourself and it will get finished.

How do you market your work? Have you found some avenues to be more successful than others?
I do a lot of group meetings where I talk about the technique and show people its power, they usually buy a book from me on the day, and then tell their friends. I also have a website that I use and it can be brought from the iTunes store, Lulu, and Amazon books.

I do have one thing that not many self-help books offer. I offer my professional services at no extra cost to anyone that buys my book. If anyone buys my book and needs help they can call me via Skype or email me, where I will direct them in finding the root cause of their fears or anxiety.

If your book was made into a movie, who do you picture playing each part?
A lot of my work is about searching for the start of the fear, people think they have a fear or phobia when in fact all they have is a memory that the mind believes is fearful. I change that fear into a normal rational thought thus changing the idea if fear into just an everyday thought. People have told me that the techniques ability to do this often feels like magic as it removes long held fears with seemingly no effort. There are two people that might fit the bill as lead in a film about this technique, although both don’t really exist. They are Harry Potter who uses magic and the person finding the issues would need to be a good detective, so Columbo would fit this part.
