The Problem of Evil: A Biblical Perspective, by Doug Erlandson

The Problem of Evil: A Biblical Perspective, by Doug Erlandson
***KINDLE COUNTDOWN MAY 24- 30, 2014***

Why Does God Permit Evil?

A Fresh Approach to an Age-Old Problem

In The Problem of Evil: A Biblical Perspective, Dr. Doug Erlandson takes a fresh approach to a question that has baffled philosophers and theologians for centuries: "If God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-good, why does he permit evil?" The attempt to provide an adequate answer to this question is known as "Theodicy."

Drawing on his nearly forty years of teaching and writing on the problem of evil, Erlandson examines the traditional theodicies and shows why they are unable to solve the problem. He then argues that the only way we will understand why God permits evil is if we accept the answer that Scripture gives to the question.

Here's a Preview of What's in the Book

  • What's wrong with the freewill defense and other traditional theodicies
  • Why a God-centered theodicy is necessary to solving the problem of evil
  • Why God's answer to Job is absolutely to the point
  • What we can learn from the suffering and death of Christ
  • Why we can have full assurance that God will work everything to our good

˃˃˃ What Others Are Saying

Doug does a great job of summarizing in simple language some of the complex issues that philosophers have wrestled with for more than 2,000 years. This is a very helpful book if you are doing serious thinking about the pain and evil in this world. Thoroughly grounded in sound Biblical theology. (Rev. Stu Kerns)

An approach that uses a sensitive mix of philosophy, autobiography and theology to answer one of life's most troubling concepts. (Penn Tomassetti "Penn')

A very practical and helpful study of a very difficult subject. It is written well and is easy to read. (Nick Harris)

Author Interview with Leeza Robertson: Animal Totems & How To Use Them For Everyday Life

A Conversation with Leeza Robertson,

Author of "Animal Totems &
How To Use Them For Everyday Life"

Animal Totems & How to Use Them For Everyday Life

Why did you feel you had to write this book?
After doing classes and workshops on power animals and animal totems, it just seemed like the next logic step to put all of that information into one reference guide.

Where do you get your ideas?
I remember being introduced to my very fist deck of animal medicine cards in 2006. From that moment on I knew this was a form of work I would end up doing. I read all I could get my hands on. I have all of Ted Andrews books and have even attended some of Dr Steven Farmers classes. But it was during my own work with animal guides that I got all of my ideas. It was through meditation and channeled dialogue that we came together to open the way for others to learn this form of divination.

Do you ever experience writer’s block and how do you overcome it?
For me writers block is nothing more then the space between moments of inspiration. I know when it is time the information will come. So I never force it. I find it so much easier to just 'expect' the information to show up when its ready and when it is not ready I find something else to do so I do block the flashes of divine dialogue when it does show up.

What advice would you give to aspiring writers on the writing and publishing process?
Hire a book coach! Save yourself time, money and a lot of stress and hire a book coach. When I am not writing on my own creative projects I am coaching others to attain their publishing dreams. This year one of my students made it onto the best sellers list within 7 days of her book going live on amazon. That sort of success is not created in a vacuum, hire a coach.

How do you market your work? Have you found some avenues to be more successful than others?
I have spent years creating a list of raving fans of my work. This database is always waiting to see what I have in the works. I do this by doing live classes, workshops and events. Through social media, email campaigns to my already hungry data base, radio interviews and teleseminars.
