Dawn of the Destined Hero, by Marshall Walls

What does it mean to be a hero? Is it defending the innocent and battling the forces of evil? Or is it something more?

Arimax Holycross has dreamed of being a hero, just like his late father, his entire thirteen years of life. However, living in the peaceful village of Edena at the end of the tenth century, he has no chance to follow in his father's footsteps. Instead, he's sent off to the fields for a rite of passage: harvesting crops with the rest of the village farmers. On his trip, he takes a shortcut through the cursed woods, meeting with a mysterious hermit who introduces him to the power of magic through an enchanted ruby, which can control the element of fire. This encounter begins the boy's journey to uncover his ultimate destiny; a destiny that will reveal to him the triumphs and heartaches of being a true hero.

Kindle Spotlight: "Galdin (Legends Lost)"

Galdin (Legends Lost)
By: Nova Rose

When darkness looms
And all is gloom
Two will rise
Bearing the mark combined.

One, the phoenix dwells within
And hope he shall restore.
A gift he needs from its glen
And a tear from old lore
And one item more

The other, harsh punishment will he bear.
To keep alive a people’s soul, he must spare
Them sorrow’s pain and betrayal’s snare.

500 years of peace have reigned in the lands of Tesnayr, but the princess Nylana is forced to watch her brother Galdin meet what all believe to be certain death..

25 years later Nylana is sent on a mission to a neighboring kingdom where she is rescued from slavery by her lost brother. Reunited they travel back to Tesnayr and find that barbarians have invaded from the north and the alliances between the five lands are strained once again. But all is not as it seems as something elusive and more sinister taunts them.

Can Galdin and Nylana solve this mystery and save the lands of Tesnayr?
